This policy explains what information Toolix uses and why.
1. Information you enter
Everything you type into Toolix's calculators, converters and QR tool is processed on your device. This includes dates of birth, height, weight, prices, course grades, text, numbers, and any phone numbers or email addresses you put in a QR code. We do not upload it, store it on a server or share it.
- Unit conversion history is saved in the app's private storage on your phone. You can clear it in the app, and it is removed when you uninstall Toolix.
- If you choose to export history (JSON), share a GPA report (PDF), or save/share a QR code or barcode image, the file is saved on your phone or sent to the app you pick. Nothing goes to us.
- QR codes and barcodes you create are drawn on your phone. The text, links, Wi-Fi details or contacts you put in them are not uploaded.
2. Email addresses and contacts in QR codes
The QR tool lets you create Email and Contact QR codes, and it can read them when you scan.
- An email address you type in or scan is used only to make the code or show you the result. Toolix keeps it only while you are using that screen and does not save it, upload it or send it to us.
- If you tap Send email or Add contact, Toolix passes the address (and any subject, message, name or phone number) to the email or contacts app you choose. That app may then send or sync it under its own privacy policy. Toolix never does this unless you tap the button.
3. Advertising (Google AdMob)
Toolix is free and shows banner ads and occasional full-screen (interstitial) ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may automatically collect and share with Google:
- your device's Advertising ID,
- your IP address (used to estimate approximate location),
- app interaction and diagnostic data (for example ad views, taps, app launches and crash/performance data).
Google uses this data to deliver ads, measure them, and prevent fraud. It is processed under Google's policies:
- How Google uses data from partner apps: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
- Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
Your choices
- Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are asked for consent through Google's consent form (UMP) before personalised ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in Toolix → Settings → Privacy & ad choices.
- Everyone: you can reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads).
4. QR & barcode scanner (Google code scanner)
The Scan feature uses Google's code scanner, which runs inside Google Play services. The camera screen belongs to Google Play services — Toolix itself never gets camera access and never sees camera images; it only receives the text of the code you scanned, which stays on your phone. Toolix never opens a scanned link by itself — you see it first and decide.
To keep the scanner working, Google's ML Kit may send Google basic diagnostic information such as device model and OS version, app package name and version, a per-installation identifier that does not identify you, performance metrics and error codes. Google states it does not transfer this data to third parties. Details: https://developers.google.com/ml-kit/android-data-disclosure
5. Permissions
Toolix uses internet access to load ads and the consent form. It asks for only one optional permission, and only on Android 9 or older: storage, to save a QR code or barcode image to your Gallery when you tap Save (newer Android versions need no permission for this). Toolix does not access your contacts list, camera, microphone or location (GPS), and does not read your photos or files. Adding a scanned contact opens your phone's own contacts app; Toolix cannot read your contacts.
6. Children
Toolix is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, contact us and we will help remove it.
7. Data security, retention and deletion
We do not run servers that store your data, so there is nothing held by us to delete. Data in the app is removed when you clear history or uninstall Toolix. Data kept by Google for advertising is retained according to Google's policies linked above; you can manage it through your Google ad settings. Data sent off your phone by the ads SDK and scanner is encrypted in transit.
8. Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
